The EU Exit: ID Document Check app allows users to verify their identity online as part of their application to the EU Settlement Scheme.

By utilizing this app, there is no need to physically mail your identity document to us, streamlining the application process.

Eligibility for App Usage

• Residency in the UK
• Europan Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss nationality
• Or have an EEA or Swiss national family member (if you are not a national of a country in the EEA or Switzerland)
• If you are not an EEA or Swiss national, you must possess a biometric residence card or permit issued by the UK (provided you are in the UK) to utilize this app. Otherwise, you will need to apply by post.

Preliminary Requirements

• If you are an EEA or Swiss national, you will need your passport or national identity card.
• If you are not an EEA or Swiss national but have an EEA or Swiss national family member, you will need your UK issued biometric residence card or permit (provided you are in the UK).
• Ensure that you are in a well-lit area for capturing a high-quality photograph of yourself.

If your national identity card does not have a biometric chip, you can still use this app but will need to send us the card by post.

The app prioritizes the safety and security of its users. Your personal information is not stored within the app or on your phone after you finish using it.
